About Zupanic

Zupanic Virtual Academy, established in 1990, is located in Rialto, in San Bernardino County.  The District serves students in a 55 square mile area.  Included in the boundaries are the City of Rialto, the western portion of the City of San Bernardino, a small segment of the cities of Colton and Fontana, and some unincorporated county territory. 

At the time of the last accreditation, the Rialto Unified School District served a student population of 30,000. Current district enrollment is over 26,000 students housed in 19 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, 3 comprehensive high schools, 1 continuation high school, and 1 virtual academy.

Zupanic Virtual Academy is a fully accredited independent study and virtual platform that serves students from 9-12.  ZVA recognizes the diverse needs, experiences, and backgrounds of our students.

Our Mission

The mission of Milor High School and Zupanic Virtual Academy, unique schools of restorative educational opportunities and empowerment, is to facilitate academic, emotional and professional growth by developing an enhanced sense of self-efficacy in graduates through a vital system distinguished by: 

  • A welcoming, inclusive environment that respects individual identity
  • Intentional and innovative scheduling that offers multiple opportunities for student success 
  • Open and flexible communication with both students and their families and systems of support
  • Utilizing data as a diagnostic tool to create metrics focused on individualized student growth
